Share His Love

Just because you are saved doesn't mean you won't face temptation, troubles, and trials. In fact, the enemy of God, Satan, wants you to give in to temptation and destroy your witness for God. This world is evil, and temptation is everywhere. We are tempted to over-eat, get drunk, look at pornography, be violent, say curse words, cheat in many areas, steal things, want other people's things (jealousy), and the list goes on and on. You can never eliminate sin completely from your life, but you will sin less and less with God's help. Here are some good Bible verses to remember.

In the New Testament of the Bible, you will find in the book of Matthew chapter 26 and verse 41: "Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak."

In the New Testament of the Bible, you will find in the book of 1st Corinthians chapter 10 and verse 13: "No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, He also provides a way out so that you can stand up under it."

With God's help, we can overcome temptation, troubles, and trials in our lives. The Bible also says that we cannot be tempted beyond what we can handle. That is good news! As for the trials in your life, you will have those as well. Life can be cruel sometimes, but we go through difficult times in order to learn how to trust God.

Think of it like this. I heard an analogy one time about a runner. The runner must train his or her body to push through the pain to go farther and farther. This is the same in our life. We face trials, but we must push past them time after time in order to finish this race we call life.

Life is similar to a race in the fact that you get tired and want to quit, but you must complete the fifth step that is "Run the Race" and finish with your eyes on the prize (eternity in heaven).
